Creating the Future of the Connected Kitchen

A leading luxury appliance brand approached us with the goal of developing a smarter kitchen that assisted home chefs in preparing perfectly cooked meals. Over six-months, we worked to create an intelligent kitchen that helps their customers cook with more precision.

To create an experience that people enjoy to use, we focused on designing appliance controls that were faster and easier to use than the ones on the physical devices. By building the connected experience around control, we could more easily introduce users to other features like recipe assistance and monitoring.

We worked quickly to build a series of prototypes that allowed users to simulate the experience of turning an oven on and off, setting temperatures, or selecting the recipe they intended to cook.

Users are able to monitor their culinary masterpiece in real-time remotely, without losing vital heat.

Oven Camera

To further build upon the concept of user control, Everest conceived of an in-oven camera system to monitor your meal without losing heat control.

Temperature Control

Users are able to modify the oven temperature, timing, and mode from their device while within their home.

Sensors monitor the appliance health, energy usage, operating efficiency, and predict when maintenance is needed.

Our goal was to create a perfect pairing between the luxury feel of the connected software and the appliances themselves. We drew design inspiration from the product range itself, creating a seamless connection between the digital and physical world by integrating animated 3D appliances in the app.
